A mechanical copy
3/11 – 13/11/ 2022
For 10 days, the 2/3 gallery was transformed into a photographic camera and functioned simultaneously as a camera obscura and experimental installation, as an exhibition space and as a creative workshop. For 10 days I made several photos of different sizes using the pinhole technique.
“A mechanical copy” aims to question concepts related to the mechanization of the photographic process, wanting to explore ideas related to uniqueness, original and copy, as well as the mystifications of the photographic image.
“The project proposes the transformation of gallery 2/3 into a dark room and the realization of works in relation to it. For 9 days, artists are invited to transform the gallery into an artistic production in close connection with the individual practice of each artist. Thus 2/3 the gallery is more interested in the works resulting from the limitations imposed by the frame itself as well as the artistic directions that can develop from this approach today, in a contemporary hyper-digitalized society
