The project brings to the forefront the artists’ concern for nature, for the small and seemingly insignificant things of contemporary life, but which in fact constitute a change of perspective, becoming a subject to be explored at the level of thinking and representation for each of them, through painting and photography. The personal laboratory recomposes itself in the exhibition space around common points of interest.
The elements that form the external landscape are living mechanisms in a personal incubator in which the world is formed, using a current algorithm about presence and absence.
The distance between nature and the traveler is the space of the project’s development, the place where ideas are generated and where we look through the authors’ lens, while maintaining our own angle of view. About trees and not only thus becomes a project about each of us, about “me” and “now”.
Dragoș Burlacu and Răzvan Neagoe are colleagues of the same generation, living and working in Bucharest and Bacău, respectively. Over time, also linked by a long-lasting friendship, they participated in numerous projects and exhibitions together, the project About Trees and More being a reunion under the umbrella of Etaj Artist Run Space.
